Cory Sterling

Boys Varsity Basketball

Coach Sterling is currently in his 10th year as the BH Head Basketball Coach. He is a 1995 Benton Harbor Alum. In high school he played for the 1993 State Finalists Runner-Up team. Sterling was All State, Class A All-Star and a Conference (Big 8) champion. Afterwards he attended University of Wisconsin- Parkside on a full athletic scholarship to play basketball. There he also received his Bachelors Degree.

Benton Harbor Tigers recognize that basketball is only one facet of a young person’s life. Our mission is to be a memorable part of their journey by providing a healthy and safe environment where confidence in their athletic abilities can soar; they can develop their basketball skills, while enjoying the camaraderie of their fellow teammates and coaches and the thrill of playing a competitive game of basketball. As an organization we do not emphasize basketball as the number one priority over other areas of our young athletes’ lives. You MUST live right!! Our commitment is to complete the personal growth of our players.

2016-17-District and Regional Champions; State Semi-Finalist (Final Four) 

2017-18- District, Regional and Class B State Champions (27-1 record); USA Today, BCAM, AP and MHSCA  COACH OF THE YEAR 

2018-2019- District Champions; Regionals Finalist 

2019-2020- District Finalists- Postseason cut short due to Covid-19 (projected to win state title by all major polls)
